Bourbon Glaze Smoked Turkey
Ingredients
Glaze
1/2 cup bourbon
1/4 cup maple syrup
1/2 Tbsp onion powder
1/4 cup orange juice
2 Tbsp Soy Sauce
1 Stick Butter
Turkey
All Purpose Rub (I usually go with a pepper and garlic one)
Olive oil
Bone-in Turkey Breast
Directions
Turn on smoker to 250-300 degrees
Coat Turkey in olive oil
Cover EVERYTHING in All Purpose Rub
Put turkey in smoker, with pan underneath (I use Aluminum Half Steam Pans)- prop it up to allow for more air flow under the turkey. Could use a beer can, a potato, an onion, etc.
Cook the turkey for1.5 - 2 hours
Pour the glaze over the Turkey
Baste the Turkey every 20-30 minutes with the glaze runoff
Cook until Turkey reaches 165 degrees
Let rest for 20-30 minutes pefore slicing
